Frequently Asked Questions
Every service comes with a consultation. If you’re booking a service there is no need to book a separate consultation appointment.
Please come to your appointment with an open mind and something to take notes (phone or note pad).
How should I come with my hair?
Please come with your hair easily to separate and little product if possible.
What is considered a new client?
New client = if you haven’t come to Kurlykoils in the last 6 months.
Am I able to get color at Kurlykoils?
Yes! Please book a consultation (video consultation preferred) so we are able to discuss timing, expectations, inspiration pictures, color history etc. Once we discuss this, your stylist will schedule the appointment, speak about pricing and collect the $25 deposit.
Do you do children's hair?
Yes, but every child is not ready to come to the salon. If your child cries uncontrollably or screams, we will stop the service and there will not be a refund.
Due to COVID, you are unable to wait in the salon while your child is being serviced. You may come in to get your child settled and do the consultation with your stylist. We ask that you wait outside until your child is finished. There are no exceptions to this rule, no matter the age. If you’re not comfortable with that we are understanding that we will service your child when the rules loosen up.
Do you service men?
Yes! Men are welcome and we encourage male clients to come visit us.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cards, cash and PayPal. Cash is preferred!
I only see cuts on your services menu, do you trim hair too?
Cuts and trims are the same thing. If you want your hair cut curly, select the Customized Dry Curly Cut or Customized Curly Cut.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
24 hour cancellation is required for all appointments. If you cancel within the 24 hour grace period, you will forfeit your $25 deposit. If you didn’t pay a deposit you will be charged $25. No call no shows will be charged for the full appointment price.
Do you do consultations?
Consultations are included with every service. You are also welcome to schedule a consultation for $10 to discuss hair needs. We don’t discuss hair needs over the phone, through text or DM’s. Please schedule a consultation so we can see your hair and make recommendations. Scheduling a consultation is required before all color services.
What is the difference between a Customized Dry Curly Cut and a Customized Curly Cut?
Both of these services are a cut done on dry hair. The Customized Curly Cut includes a cleanse, condition, and styling products. Customized Dry Curly Cut are for clients who normally wear their hair as a wash n go. Customized Curly Cuts are for newer clients or clients who need hydrating tips.
Do you have a detangling fee?
If your hair is matted or dreaded we will not be able to service you. If your hair takes longer than 30 minutes to detangle, there will be a $25 fee by the hour.
Do you take down braids or sew ins?
We do not take down braids or sew ins. If you are coming in for a cleanse and set, please come in with your hair ready to be cleansed.
If I am running late, what should I do?
If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, please call the salon at (317) 974-9082. If you are 30 minutes late, we will not be able service you and a $25 fee will be assessed. Please try to be on time!
Can I bring a guest with me during my service?
No guests are allowed to come with you for the duration of your service. There is a nice restaurant next door if someone needs to come with you.
